“THE MAN JESUS” PART 2

Jesus’ life was not an accident in history; it was the fulfilment of God’s divine purpose. Every detail of His story, from His humble birth to His powerful ministry and ultimate sacrifice, carries a message of hope, salvation, and transformation. In exploring the life of Jesus, we discover not just who He is, but also who we are called to be through Him.

The Miracles of Jesus Christ

The ministry of Jesus Christ was marked by countless miracles that demonstrated His divine authority, revealed God’s power, and displayed His deep compassion for humanity. These miraculous acts were not merely supernatural events; they were divine signs pointing to His identity as the Son of God and the long-awaited Messiah. Through them, Jesus revealed God’s kingdom breaking into the world a kingdom characterised by healing, restoration, deliverance, and life.

Healing the Sick: Compassion and Power Combined
One of the most significant aspects of Jesus’ ministry was His healing power. Everywhere He went, He brought wholeness and restoration to those who were sick, afflicted, or burdened. His compassion for human suffering was evident in every healing He performed. The bible records numerous instances where Jesus healed people of various diseases; from leprosy, blindness, and paralysis to deafness and chronic illnesses. These acts were not just physical interventions but also spiritual demonstrations that the Messiah had come to heal humanity’s brokenness. “And great multitudes came unto him, having with them those that were lame, blind, dumb, maimed, and many others,
and cast them down at Jesus’ feet; and he healed them
.” – Matthew 15:30 (KJV). This verse highlights how people from all walks of life sought Him and found healing. It shows us that no condition is beyond His power and no individual is beyond His reach. Even today, Jesus remains the same; still healing the broken-hearted and restoring the sick.

Power Over Nature: The Creator at Work
Another remarkable demonstration of Jesus’ divinity was His authority over the natural elements. As the Creator of the universe, nothing in nature was beyond His control. His miracles over creation revealed His supremacy and reminded humanity that all things obey the voice of their Maker. One of the prominent instances was when Jesus calmed a violent storm while in a boat with His disciples. As fear overwhelmed them, Jesus simply spoke to the wind and the waves, and they obeyed.
Then he arose, and rebuked the winds and the sea; and there was a great calm.” – Matthew 8:26 (KJV). By commanding the storm to cease, Jesus showed that He is Lord over the forces of nature. Similarly, when He walked on water in the book of Matthew: “And in the fourth watch of the night Jesus went unto them, walking on the sea.” – Mathew 14:25 (KJV). He demonstrated His dominion over the physical world, a reminder that no chaos, storm, or circumstance is too powerful for Him to overcome.

Raising the Dead: The Giver of Life
Perhaps the most astonishing of Jesus’ miracles were those in which He raised the dead. These acts revealed His absolute authority over life and death and foreshadowed His own resurrection. Jesus raised Jairus’ daughter (Mark 5:41-42), “And he took the damsel by the hand, and said unto her, Talitha cumi; which is, being interpreted, Damsel, I say unto Thee, arise. And straightway the damsel arose, and walked; for she was of the age of twelve years. And they were astonished with a great astonishment.” Mark 5:41-42 (KJV). Brought back to life the widow’s son at Nain (Luke 7:14-15), “And he came and touched the bier: and they that are with him stood still. And he said, Young man, I say unto thee, Arise. And he that was dead sat up, and began to speak. And he delivered him to his mother.” Luke 7:14-15 (KJV). He also called Lazarus out of the grave after four days (John 11:43-44). “And when he thus had spoken, he cried with a loud voice, Lazarus, come forth. And he that was dead came forth, bound hand and foot with graveclothes: and his face was bound about with a napkin. Jesus saith unto them, loose him, and let him go.” John 11:43-44 (KJV). Each of these miracles testified that He is the source of life itself. “Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live.” – John 11:25 (KJV). These miraculous acts were more than mere displays of power; they were revelations of God’s redemptive plan, pointing to the eternal life that Christ offers to all who believe.

Deliverance: Authority Over Demons
Jesus also displayed authority over the spiritual realm by casting out demons and liberating those oppressed by evil. His deliverance ministry demonstrated the defeat of Satan’s power and the establishment of God’s kingdom on earth. “For he said unto him, Come out of the man, thou unclean spirit.” – Mark 5:8 (KJV)
With just a word, demons fled, chains were broken, and captives were set free. Through deliverance, Jesus revealed that nothing, not even the forces of darkness, could stand against the authority of God’s Son. His miracles continue to remind believers that “with God, nothing shall be impossible.” (Luke 1:37)

The Power in the Name of Jesus

The miracles of Jesus did not end with His earthly ministry. Even after His death, resurrection, and ascension, His power continues to operate through His name. The name of Jesus is not just a label; it is a divine weapon, a seal of authority, and a gateway to God’s promises. To invoke His name is to release heaven’s power into earthly and every situation.

Salvation: The Name That Saves
Above all, the name of Jesus is synonymous with salvation. Humanity’s greatest need is not wealth, health, or success, but deliverance from sin and reconciliation with God. Jesus alone meets that need. “Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.” – Acts 4:12 (KJV). No religious leader, no philosophy, and no human effort can bring salvation, only Jesus. When a person believes in His name, they are forgiven, redeemed, and adopted into the family of God.

Authority in Prayer: Heaven’s Response to His Name
The name of Jesus gives believers access to God’s throne. When we pray in His name, we do so not based on our own merit but on His righteousness and authority. Jesus Himself promised that prayers offered in His name will receive divine attention: “And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son.” – John 14:13 (KJV). Praying in the name of Jesus is not a ritualistic formula; it is an expression of faith in His authority. It is a reminder that we are speaking on behalf of the One who conquered sin, death, and the grave.

Power Over Darkness: Victory Through His Name
The authority of Jesus’ name extends to the spiritual realm. Believers are empowered to confront and overcome the forces of darkness through it. “And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues.” – Mark 16:17 (KJV) This means that the same authority Jesus exercised over demons is now available to His followers. Through His name, we can break every chain, resist the enemy, and walk in victory.

Healing in His Name: Restoration Continues
The ministry of healing did not end when Jesus ascended. His disciples continued His work by invoking His name a power that remains active today. “Then Peter said, Silver and gold have I none; but such as I have give I thee: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth rise up and walk.” – Acts 3:6 (KJV). The power in the name of Jesus still heals bodies, restores minds, and renews hearts. It is a reminder that His authority transcends time and space.

Victory in Life: The Name Above All Names
The name of Jesus is supreme over every power, title, and situation. It guarantees victory over sin, fear, failure, sickness, and death. “Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name: That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow…” – Philippians 2:9-10 (KJV). Every knee in heaven, on earth, and under the earth must bow to the authority of Jesus. His name commands obedience from all creation and ensures triumph for those who believe. Jesus Christ is more than a historical embodiment; He is the Saviour, Redeemer, and Lord of all creation. His birth fulfilled divine prophecy, His lifestyle modelled humility and holiness, His miracles revealed God’s power and compassion, and His name continues to carry eternal authority. Through faith in Him, humanity receives forgiveness, victory over sin, and the promise of eternal life. His name opens the door to healing, deliverance, answered prayer, and unshakable hope. As John beautifully summarises: “But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name.” – John 1:12 (KJV)
To believe in Jesus is to embrace God’s greatest gift a life transformed by divine love, sustained by heavenly power, and destined for eternal glory.
